To transfer a domain out of Fabulous please follow the steps below.
| Step 1 |
Ensure domain to be transferred was first registered/last transferred more than 60 days ago, then remove the Registrar Lock (so that it has a WHOIS status of ACTIVE) and note down the Authinfo code.
There are two ways to remove the Registrar-Lock from a domain name in the Manage --> Domains section of your account; individually, using the "Unlock" button, and in bulk, using the "Bulk Unlock" tool.
To remove the Registrar-Lock from a domain name individually:
- Go to the "Domains" page in the "Manage" area of your account.
- Use the search tool to locate the domain name you want to unlock.
- Click on the "Unlock" button corresponding to the domain name and a pop-up window will launch.
- Note down the randomly generated Authinfo code that appears the text box, or enter your own code in place of the randomly generated one.
- Select the checkbox named "Unlock domain until Day Month Year".
- Click the "Change" button to confirm your selection.
- The domain name will be released from the default Registrar-Lock for 5 days. For this time it will appear with the status Active.
OR
To remove the Registrar-Lock for several domain names at once using the "Bulk Unlock" tool:
Please note, the maximum number of domains that you can process with this tool at once is 1,000.
- Go to the "Domains" page in the "Manage" area of your account.
- Click on the "Bulk Unlock" button at the bottom of the page.
- Enter the domains you wish to unlock into the text box labeled “Unlock Domains”, one domain per line.
- Note down the randomly generated Authinfo code that appears the text box, or enter your own code in place of the randomly generated one.
- Click the "Continue" button to confirm your selection.
- The domain name will be released from the default Registrar-Lock for 5 days. For this time it will appear with the status Active.
|
| Step 2 |
Either the owner of the domain name or purchaser supplies the Authinfo code to the gaining Registrar and requests a domain name transfer. |
| Step 3 |
The gaining Registrar must obtain approval from the current registered owner prior to submitting a registry transfer request to the Fabulous.com.
|
| Step 4 |
If approval is obtained the gaining Registrar submits a registry transfer request to the Central Registry, which is passed on to Fabulous.com.
|
| Step 5 |
We email the current owner giving them the option to explicity approve or decline the transfer within their Fabulous account.
If we receive no response from the owner, after 5 days the Central Registry automatically transfers the domain name to the new Registrar, as a Nil response from the owner is taken as approval.
|
| Step 6 |
The domain name is transferred to the new Registrar
On a WHOIS look up the domain name will show as registered with the new Registrar, and the Central Registry will issue an email report to confirm the transfer
|
| Step 7 |
You can now manage your domain(s) through your new Registrar. |
